Purpose:

AH defines corporate social responsibility as the continuing commitment to contribute positively to the communities that support us. This extends to our workforce, their families, the local community, and society at large. We accomplish this by adhering to our core values to always act ethically, with integrity and with unlimited resolve in everything that we do.

The AH Social Responsibility Committee, an employee-driven committee supported by AH leadership, dedicates over 200 hours to local non-profits annually.

Since 1987 Habitat for Humanity has worked in Burlington County building and renovating houses for families in need. The organization carries out its mission of eliminating substandard housing by recruiting volunteers that help build communities and relationships.

Clara Barton founded the American Red Cross in 1881 and ever since then the organization has been number one in preventing and relieving suffering of all kinds. It specializes in community service, military support, blood collection, processing and distribution, promotion of health and safety, and international relief programs.

Urban Promise is a support group for children and teens that officially started in 1998 in Camden, New Jersey. The organization helps children gain skills important to a successful life. Children can enroll in after school activities, summer camps, and other specific programs.

The Food Bank of South Jersey has been operating for 25 years, giving food and knowledge to the less fortunate. The organization works with 200 charitable food providers to give immediate hunger relief and education to improve lives.

MANNA has been improving life and delivering nourishment since 1990. The organization has 1,500 volunteers that make deliveries of three meals a day, 7 days a week to people living with HIV/ AIDS, cancer, and other life threatening diseases. Alex's Lemonade Stand was founded by Alexandra “Alex” Scott. Alex was diagnosed with cancer right before she turned one. When Alex was four, she set up her first lemonade stand with her brother Patrick and raised $2,000. She donated this money to doctors to help find a cure for childhood cancer. She continued this each year until she passed away in 2004 at the age of eight — her stand and inspiration had raised more than $1 million toward finding a cure for the disease that took her life. Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation was started by her parents in 2005 to continue the work that Alex began.
